Who is Mariano Martene?

You have Product-Market Fit. You lack Process-Market Fit.
Most B2B SaaS companies in the $1M–$5M ARR range hit the same wall.
You’ve proven there’s a market. Revenue is flowing. Customers are happy.
But behind the curtain, it’s messy:
- Pipeline is inconsistent
- CRM data is unreliable
- The tech stack keeps growing, but clarity doesn’t
👋 Hey, I’m Mariano Martene, and I build GTM engines that fix that.
Every business has different levers; my job is to find them, test them, and turn them into a predictable GTM engine.
My mission is simple: I help founders write their own playbooks.
I’m hands-on from strategy to execution.
Some call this “GTM Engineering.”
I just call it figuring out what already works and making it repeatable.
How I got here
I was born in Argentina and I’m currently based in Portugal.
I started with a solo performance marketing agency that earned recognition from Google as one of Argentina’s top partners. That let me travel the world on client work, evolving from Google Ads into broader paid media and systems thinking.
Later, I joined a French B2B SaaS startup as one of the first employees. Over time, I become Head of Growth, and I laid the entire GTM foundation:
- Set up acquisition through SEO, PPC, and email
- Built internal ops and CRM systems
- Hired and scaled sales, support, and content teams
Together with the founding team, we grew revenue from €1M to €2.5M ARR fully bootstrapped.
After that, I started a venture called Iterate. Originally envisioned as a GTM orchestration platform. We pushed hard, experimented with signal capture and activation, and learned a ton. Our direction eventually intersected with emerging tools like Clay — which outpaced us brilliantly.
That pivot helped me reconnect my core skill set: working hands-on with founders to engineer growth.
Where I Am Now
Today, I work independently with B2B SaaS companies, mostly US-based, doing $1M–$5M ARR. Helping them build GTM engines that drive revenue.
I also write SaaS HQ, a newsletter read by 1,500+ founders and operators. In it, I share case studies, growth systems, and real lessons from the field.
What I Bring to the Table
My work sits at the intersection of product, data, and revenue. Founders bring me in when they need someone who can:
- Think strategically
- Execute technically
- Bridge messy gaps between ops, sales, marketing, and product
Two key strengths help me do that:
- A finance-first mindset that spots bottlenecks and builds game plans.
- A technical foundation (APIs, no-code tools, Python/webhooks) to make things move.
